There is an issue in the current U.S. immigration law, which keeps us separated, despite the fact we never broke the law. I am in the U.S. and Hanka is in Slovakia. She is waiting for processing of her application by USCIS, which is backlogged and since November 2006 is pending. I am trying to visit Hanka as often as it goes, what is possible thanks to my employer (Sun Microsystems). However in order to maintain my legal permanent resident (green card) status I need to stay in the U.S. more than 6 months each year, which keeps us apart.
